Progressives are very miserable people who try to ruin everything for everyone else. This includes crushing all the fun and joy for kids.

In yet another attempt to solve racism or whatever, Halloween has been canceled.

This week, school officials from Northboro Public Schools notified parents that students would not be allowed to wear costumes to school for Halloween, and the parade through the halls would be canceled.

School officials told WBZ that the changes were made in order to align with the district's "core values of equity and inclusion," but it is unclear how the changes will accomplish that.

The tradition usually applies to elementary students who dress up in their costumes to line up and "parade" around the halls, according to CBS.

"I think it's cool because everyone can see your costume and what you are going to be for Halloween if you don't live near them and won't see them at Halloween," said Northboro third grader, Allison.

Allison, who plans to dress up as Cruella, added, "I have a really long dress, a puppy that will rest on my shoulder, and a jacket.”

In their letter sent home to parents, school officials said students will participate in a "fall-themed spirit day” instead.

But some parents are reportedly just as bad as the progressives who run the school, according to reports from WBZ.

"There is the money aspect: Not everyone can afford a Halloween costume," parent James Hamlan noted to WBZ. "There's the parent aspect: Some kids have their parents there, and they are able to leave work and witness the parade."

That is so dumb. If they really cared about the fact that everyone cannot afford a costume, then they could have started a donation drive or something where people could donate last year's attire.

But that would involve some actual thinking and we know the real reason leftists go and cancel fun is to crush kids' spirits.

Hamlin said he supports the district's new policy: "I think it's a good thing because it means more parents are going to be able to go to whatever parade the PTO is organizing."

Thankfully, some parents have a little more common sense.

During a Wednesday school committee meeting, WBZ reported that one parent said, "Frankly, I don't understand it. I don't understand why it is being taken away from my son”

Others added, “We should've been given the ability to have a say on it, and I don't think that that was done, and I don't think it was fair.”

We might as well ban Valentine's Day next. As you know, not everyone can ‘afford’ candy or whatever.

Leftists hate anything that shows creativity and originality. They do not see children as individuals with curious minds. They see them as just another means for their political agenda.

If Halloween does nothing to advance their politics, and only brings people joy, then it must be destroyed, according to them.

Progressives are nothing more than a bunch of cheerless losers who attempt to suck the joy out of everything.

Misery loves company. And that is very clear here.
