One of the biggest issues with no human being illegal is that you inevitably turn Americans into second-class citizens in their own country. But what is incredibly insane is that we now have people, who should not even be here, being rewarded and receiving universal basic income just because they are here.

Progressive elected officials in New York City have now taken on the burden of supplying taxpayer funds to foreign nationals.

According to The New York Post:

“Mayor Eric Adams’ administration will soon start handing out pre-paid credit cards to migrant families being put up in Big Apple hotels, The Post has learned.

The $53 million pilot program, run by the New Jersey company Mobility Capital Finance, will provide asylum seekers arriving at the Roosevelt Hotel with the city cash to help them buy food, according to city records.

It’ll start with a group of 500 migrant families in short-term hotel stays and will replace the current food service offered there, according to City Hall.

The cards can only be used at bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets and convenience stores — and migrants must sign an affidavit swearing they will only spend the funds on food and baby supplies or they will be kicked out of the program.”

It is unclear to me how that is even legal, as the sole purpose of taxes is not to give money to foreign nationals. But I guess that is what happens when Progressives start running things.

Why does it always seem as if money is being moved around when Democrats are in office?

I also love how this is on the “honor system” and that all these migrants have to do is pinky promise that they won’t abuse the funds.

They already cannot be trusted to respect our federal immigration laws but for some reason, Progressives think that by giving them cash they will somehow turn into truthful individuals.

We don’t even know if they are who they say they are.

The most insane part about all of this is that there are actual New Yorkers who could use a lot of help right now and rather than helping them, they are thrown to the curb to prioritize foreign nationals.

To be clear, I am not for universal basic income in any form. However, I would much rather we use funds to help Americans who are genuinely struggling right now.

“If the program is a success, the city will expand it to all migrant families staying in hotels, which is roughly 15,000 currently, officials said Friday.”

And what if more people arrive? Are they automatically going to get these funds? Are supposed to believe that that won’t encourage more foreign nationals to come to New York? Because I beg to differ.

My goodness. Progressive policies are incredibly cruel to the very people they were elected to represent. And it’s comical that they pretend they are the “compassionate” ones.
