The NYPD is managing to piss off many a jobless liberal in New York City. Not by arresting innocent people but arresting the guilty ones. Diperwads across the country have made such a stink about NYPD enforcing the laws against illegal aliens, other states are taking the NYPD to court.

Federal authorities want state officials to cooperate. Not just for good feels from "team work" but to enforce the law. So things like this can't happen: Oregon Judge Helps Illegal Criminal Escape ICE Agents. Yes, Really... Alas, asking the state to cooperate by not aiding illegal criminals is asking TOO MUCH.

Back to New York being angry with the NYPD - the police have been helping federal authorities, tipping them off as to the future court dates of illegals. Key New York leftsits had some comments to squawk:

The NYPD reportedly alerts federal immigration officials to illegal immigrants' appearances in criminal court despite Mayor Bill de Blasio's vow to remain a sanctuary city. New York City has vowed to only alert immigration officials if an illegal immigrant is accused of a violent crime.

"Any serious or violent crime, we are going to work with [immigration authorities]," De Blasio said, adding that otherwise, an immigrant who "went through a stop sign could be deported for that."

No, Bill. Illegal immigrants don't get deported for running stop signs, they get deported for being here illegally. De Blasio's mouth-to-brain connection often gets intercepted by thought sewage such as this, but that's for another post (see Moron of the Year: De Blasio Says Drunk Driving is Ok... New York City fancies itself impervious to federal law. But by sidestepping the law, they put their own citizens in danger. So NYC is trying to come to a compromise, where certain authorities alert ICE about illegals... But only if they're "illegal" enough; i.e. violent crimes. But by doing so, they violate their status as a sanctuary city.

It's okay to feel confused. These are the same people who insist men can be women if they click their ruby slippers three times.
