The New York Times OpEd calling for a nationwide ban on Assault weapons... did it turn out to be a game-changer?

Oh it was a game changer alright...

It seems that President Obama's call for an assault weapons ban in his recent Oval Office address and the New York Times's front page editorial advocating that Americans be made to give up their guns had a significant impact on influencing public opinion -- just not in the way that they had hoped.

For the first time in history, Americans oppose a ban on "assault weapons." A big reason is likely because more Americans know what "assault weapons" actually are. Just a BS term designed to implement gun control based on silly, arbitrary standards that mean nothing.

It's weird, right? The more leftists attack gun owners and lie about guns, the more they threaten to take guns from law abiding citizens...the more law abiding citizens they turn into new gun owners. So of course, now leftists are blaming the people who sell guns. Because you know, it couldn't possibly be their fault that they're clueless as to what anyone outside of New York City thinks.

Liberals lie about guns all the time. We put them on blast for it here, here, and here just for a few examples. It's just never blown up in their faces like this before.

Also important to note, this is why Bernie Sanders is a legitimate threat to Hillary. Gun control is the singular issue which can fracture the Democrat-party vote. There are enough Democrat gun-owners who will not vote for someone they perceive to be rabidly anti-Second Amendment. Hillary qualifies more than anybody. Compare that with Bernie Sanders who received a mere "D-" rating from the NRA, and the primary could get interesting.

Also, through proper education and social media efforts, more and more Americans are educated on what the Second Amendment actually means. For example; the myth that it was "just for muskets"? We debunked that below, and changed a lot of minds.
