Watch: City's ceasefire resolution turns into antisemitic festival when pro-Hamas supporters freak out over an amendment
An Oakland City Council meeting brought out all the progressive lunatics on Monday night. The city was passing a resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. Yet when an amendment was proposed also to say Hamas were the bad guys, things descended into an antisemticpalooza.
To recap everything that has happened since Hamas launched a terrorist attack on October 7th in Israel, where babies were slaughtered and women were murdered WHILE they were being raped...
Oakland, in the Democrat Party Utopia of California, wanted to pass a resolution calling for a "ceasefire." In this story, you almost have to let that go. Sure, it's low-information, ignores the fact that there was a ceasefire on October 6th, and ignores basic history. But it's a city that's been run by progressives for decades. At this point in time, you can't really expect anything less.
It was when a city council member proposed an amendment saying that while there should be a ceasefire, let's also remember that Hamas started this, that things fell apart. The amendment was voted down 6-2.
Then, Oakland's pro-Hamas caucus took the microphone. In a gallows humor way, this plays like a parody of obnoxious, woke Democrats. Expect had I been writing a sketch, none of my characters would be THIS over the top.
"There have not been beheadings of babies and rapings. Israel murdered their own people on October 7th!"
"Calling Hamas a terrorist organization is ridiculous, racist, and plays into genocidal propaganda," said some white broad still wearing a mask in 2023.
Another mask wearer, "I support the right of Palestinians to resist occupation, including through Hamas, the armed wing of the unified Palestinian resistance.”
Defending Hamas was a recurring theme. One Arab speaker claimed that denouncing the terrorist organization was "anti-Arab," which almost sounds like she is saying all Arabs support Hamas.
There was a conspiracy that many of the Jews killed by Hamas on October 7th were ACKSHUALLY killed by the IDF.
You had an old dude wearing a communist t-shirt ranting, “To hear them complain about Hamas violence is like listening to a wife beater complain when his wife finally stands up and fights back."
And, of course... “Question: did anyone else notice that those who oppose this resolution are old white supremacists?”
On the surface, this may sound like a handful of extremist elements. It's not. They represent the mainstream Democrat Party.
And also mainstream media.
