Not only do Oakland officials condone and promote lawlessness, they despise law-abiding citizens. So much so that any issues residents face from the progressive culture of ruin is nothing more than a personal problem. One reason is that city officials in one of the most dangerous cities in the country hate doing their job - obviously. Not only do they allow criminality to run rampant, but it’s a requirement for citizens to clean up the mess when they fall victim to crime.

The most evil acts are those that harm children. The second most evil acts are those that harm the elderly. And a lot of the time, in progressive-run areas, those are the two groups that suffer the most because of their asinine policies.

Oakland officials have made it clear that they are ableist and ageist because they have just ordered a 102-year-old man in a wheelchair to clean up graffiti or pay over a thousand dollars a day -- even though he has been paying taxes to the city for over 80 years.

Wheelchair user, Oakland-born, 102-year-old, Victor Silva, Sr. often finds graffiti painted onto the back fence of his Oakland home. He has lived here and paid taxes for 80 years.

Earlier this month, he got a violation citation from the City of Oakland to remove it by Tuesday the 19th or face an $1100 fine, plus an additional $1277 for each failed re-inspection.

How is city staff going to tell a man who cannot walk to clean up graffiti or fork over thousands of dollars? We all know city officials don't give a crap about the garden quality of the city and it's comical that they expect residents to clean up the mess they created.

So none of the taxes this man has paid to the city in the past eight decades can help this innocent man out? A man who has presumably been an upstanding citizen gets zero help while these people allow the vandalism to go on with no cessation.

"It was so absurd, it's like a joke. If you drive around the city and see the graffiti everywhere, it's just I don't know what to say," said daughter-in-law Elena Silva.

In his younger years before the wheelchair, he often painted over the graffiti himself.

"Just had a roller and a paintbrush and just painted it. It was very easy because I was a contractor, you know. I'll be 103 in two months or so. That slowed it up a little bit, you know," said Silva Sr.

These days, that task falls to his 70-year-old son, Victor Silva Jr.

Not only has he been cleaning up graffiti around the city for FREE for decades, but he is being punished because he is now in a wheelchair and it is too difficult for him. It seems as if he has never asked the city for anything, but they won’t blink an eye to get thousands out of a 102-year-old man who cannot walk. The city really tried to justify not helping out a resident who has lived there for 80 years. That is because they see residents as public servants rather than the other way around, even though it takes close to zero resources to help the man out.

That is so pathetic.

"It's hard to keep up with it because as soon as we get it painted, It's gonna be graffiti on it again, and it won't last," said Silva Jr.

The family owns a nearby small commercial which has been broken into three times in the last year. On one occasion, Silva Jr. found a person inside. In each case, he called 911.

"And I'm put on hold every time. So it's hard to understand where our tax dollars are going. They can't answer 911, but they can come out and hassle you about a fence?"

"I would hate to think that there [are] other hundred-year-old people that are being harassed like this. Oakland has to change. The system is not working." said Silva Jr.

To be fair, the system is likely working exactly how Progressive intended it to. Which is chaos and dystopia. Because at this point, you can only blame incompetnece for so long, as the city is not even pretending to care anymore.

City officials should be helping out vulnerable populations, not harassing them. And like I said, one of the most evil things someone can do is mess with the elderly.
