Obama Takes Unbelievably Harsh Shots... At Hillary Clinton.
Yes, it was the White House Correspondents Dinner and "all in good fun," but considering all the times that her husband has taken the opportunity to undermine him... I've got to believe that President Obama took some extra satisfaction in these. I mean, he could have just flicked the jab. Instead, he reeeeeally sat into those punches.
Especially since they're spot on accurate.
Hillary Clinton, former secretary of state under the Obama administration and 2016 Democratic frontrunner, was on the receiving end of one the president’s most memorable lines. After commending Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders for connecting with young voters, Obama jabbed Clinton over her inability to do so.
“You’ve got to admit it though, Hillary trying to appeal to young voters is a little bit like your relative that just signed up for Facebook,” Obama said.
He then imitated Clinton in a mocking tone, “Dear America, did you get my poke? Is it appearing on your wall? I’m not sure I’m using this right. Love, Aunt Hillary.”
It was Obama’s eighth appearance at the event and his last as president. TV host Larry Wilmore provided the professional comedy for the evening.
“If this material works well, I’m going to use it at Goldman Sachs next year,” Obama said. “Earn me some serious Tubmans.”
I know what you're thinking. Hillary out of touch? That's crazy talk. She likes hot sauce, damnit. DID YOU HEAR THAT, ALL YOU BLACKS? HOT SAUCE!!!
Hillary's out of touchedness (yes I made that word up) actually serves as a brilliant contrast to Obama. The left doesn't necessarily win on their platform of ideas. They win on packaging. As you can see in this video, Obama can be laid-back, affable and deliver some surprisingly effective comedic timing. That's why he's the President. Now his actual ideas? Nobody knew anything about them when he was elected.
Contrast that with Hillary. Same ideas, just the packaging of... well... Hillary Clinton. That's why she's having such a struggle. It has nothing to do with her policy proposals, because people aren't even listening yet. It is entirely due to the fact, that she is Hillary freaking Clinton. When people see or hear her, they still think...
