Open-Carry Coming To Florida! Why That's Awesome...
Florida is looking to become the next state to allow open-carry, also known as allowing "the 2nd Amendment." Rep. Matt Gaetz is currently leading the charge...
"While we will certainly hear from shrill voices on the left that open carry will lead to the wild, wild west, that is not borne out by any of the data we have...it is important to note that in the states that allow open carry, violent crime was 23 percent lower, the murder rate was 5 percent lower, the aggravated assault rate was 23 percent lower and robbery rates were 36 percent lower.""I like to see Florida on the list of states that enhances people’s rights and makes people stronger, not on the list of states that restricts the choices and the rights of our citizens."
Now before you leftists let out an audible, collective gasp, keep in mind that Florida is actually one of the few states that doesn't allow open-carry. Shocker I know. Where it's been implimented (again in many many states), it seems to have worked out pretty damn well. In many instances, gun crime has decreased. Now here at LwC we try not to jump to the causation/correlation link, so we wouldn't be so bold as to emphatically state that open-carry reduces crime.
We can state in the affirmative however, that open-carry laws, without a doubt, do not result in increased crime. That fact is widely accepted enough that even Auber-leftist states like Vermont, yes, THAT Vermont have allowed open-carry for years. Vermont, people. The land of Ben & Jerry's and Bernie Sanders.
The bill is being debated, so we've reached the point of leftist lies and scare tactics. Watch the anti-gun PSA below from Roger Goodman to see what we're talking about.
