Opinion: Democrats Don't Care About You. Their Reaction to Tax Reform Proves It...
All my life I've heard Democrats (and their liberal minions) proclaim to everyone who'll listen about HOW MUCH THEY CARE, DAMNIT! A position held with a tightness of an abortion "doctor" to his forceps. Caring, or perhaps that's CARING™, is the foundation upon which they've built their platforms. Abortion on demand: Democrats CARE about women's rights. Gun control: Democrats CARE about American lives (those whom survived abortion, obviously). Minimum wage: Democrats CARE people have a "livable wage." And of course, government subsidized programs, because Democrats CARE about providing a plump government nipple for the nourishment of helpless sucklings.
The message of CARING™ is so forcefully delivered, it's akin to some kind of brainwashing scheme, cooked up in the most perverted minds the CIA thought too unpredictable to employ. There you are, shackled to a chair, your eyes taped open, while you listen to Nancy Pelosi screech about how much she loves the children of illegal immigrants. Or Chuck Schumer voicing his concern about the "seriousness of the charge" (pick what charge). I'm going with his nose. Gives me the heebie jeebies. The point being Democrats care more for you than you can care for yourself. Ergo they're better capable of taking care of you than you are.
They care alright. Like a parasite cares for its host.
Why else do Democrats race to podiums to decry losing control over you. With the repeal of Net Neutrality, which simply rolled back internet regulations to that of 2015, the left acted as though flat-earthers stormed NASA. Running about labs and offices like sugar-high toddlers, throwing paint balls at any planetary symbol lacking the qualities of a pancake. We saw similar behavior from Democrats with the passage of tax reform. Wherein the corporate tax rate was slashed, and Americans received a bit of a tax break. But to the Democrats:
To quote The Bard "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." This gross overreaction was a simple distraction. But also projection. The more the left loses control over Americans' lives, the more independent Americans become, the better able Americans are to spit out the government mammary forced upon them. Reducing the need for government.
Which brings me to the general point of this column. Listen to a Democrat tell it, the passage of tax reform was worse than giving the Grim Reaper a chainsaw. And all of Facebook's analytics.
The opposite happened. The stock market spiked. Large "evil" corporations showered their employees with bonuses. Families across the nation are keeping more of their own money. Companies like Walmart and others are now raising their minimum wages. Not because government is forcing them to by law. These companies are now able to keep more of their own money. And they're reinvesting it in their businesses. By improving the pay of their employees.
So if Democrats actually, truly cared for people as the claim, then shouldn't Democrats applaud the effects of tax reform? Should they not, upon reading reports of raising wages, erase all demands for a minimum wage, and lower taxes even more than they are now?
Rhetorical questions, all. Democrats don't care about the welfare of Americans. Democrats care about having control. Over you. If businesses go and raise wages on their own, because they have more money, well slap me sideways and call me Deshaun. Means government isn't as essential to people's welfare as Democrats have alleged.
This "we CARE about you" tripe needs to be exposed for all it is: a cudgel used to bludgeon anyone who opposes the notion more government intervention is good for people. People, when left on their own, can and will take care of themselves far better than government bureaucrats who read from TelePrompters. As it turns out, the success trickles down.
2018 shall be an interesting election. Democrats will try desperately to paint America as a mire of human waste, overwhelmed with invisible oppression from things like "privilege." It's projection. Wishful thinking. As Americans can keep more of what they've earned, and earn more because their employer isn't forced to surrender more to government, there may come a time where people start to see the wizard behind the Democrat curtain. Who sounds strong, powerful, and benevolent. But is actually nothing but plastic vomit. Voiced by Bernie Sanders.
