Who should have control over how to care for a child experiencing mental health issues like depression or sexual confusion? Teachers think parents don’t have a right to that information. Parents might think differently. Certainly, Stephen Foote and Marissa Silvestri believed they had the right to care for their child. The school thought differently.

According to The Blaze, Foote and Silvestri’s daughter was experiencing feelings of depression, “insecurity, low self-esteem, poor self-image, and a perceived lack of popularity.” She also told a school official she was “experiencing same-sex attraction.” Her parents told the school they would get her the professional help she needed, adding “we request that you do not have any private conversations with B. in regards to this matter. Please allow us to address this as a family and with the proper professionals.”

The school ignored them, of course, allowing the child to change her name (twice) and affirming her “discordant gender identity.” In February 2021, Foote and Silvestri’s daughter sent an email to officials at the school listing pronouns she desired to be addressed by due to her “genderqueer” identity, pronouns like “she/her he/him they/them fae/faerae/aer ve/ver xe/xem ze/zir.” The official passed it on to faculty, telling them to comply with the request to use the pronouns but also saying the parents shouldn’t be notified.

The lawsuit against the school also claims faculty told the student—who, you’ll remember, was dealing with issues associated with self-esteem—she was “brave and awesome” for coming out as “genderqueer.”

If you ask me, this last bit demonstrates just how these school personnel take advantage of vulnerable children to groom them in their preferred, politically motivated sex and gender cult. This kid had low self-esteem, and the school’s response is to heap praise upon her for coming out as queer?

I can’t help but think this is exactly what teachers are doing all over the place. No wonder there is a soaring number of kids coming out as one of the infinite genders the left continues to invent.

It’s a terrible misuse of authority and trust on the part of the schools, and it is conducted against the explicit wishes of concerned and caring parents.
