Watch: Pat McAfee calls out BY NAME the ESPN executive “actively trying to sabotage” his show
To the extent that there was ever a honeymoon between Pat McAfee and ESPN, it is over. The NFL star turned podcast icon turned ESPN star accused the network of sabotaging his show, and called out a vice president BY NAME he believes is doing so.
It was in reference to this NY Post article, saying that McAfee ratings allegedly aren't worth the headache for the network. Coincidentally, this was the day after Aaron Rodgers on the show said how much he'd love it to see Jimmy Kimmel's name in the Epstein files. McAfee addressed the issue, going the Howard Stern/Pig Virus route. Live on air, he called out Norby Williamson, the Executive Senior Vice President of Studio and Event Production for the network.
"There are some people actively trying to sabotage us from within ESPN," McAfee claimed. "More specifically, I believe Norby Williamson is the guy who is attempting to sabotage our program. I’m not 100 percent sure, that is just seemingly the only human that has information. And then somehow that information gets leaked, and it’s wrong. And then it sets a narrative of what our show is. And then, are we just going to combat that from a rat every single time? I don’t know.”

There was controversy when McAfee first signed with ESPN. The notoriously woke "sports" network walks in lockstep with the progressive narrative at all times. Most, if not all, of the times Aaron Rodgers made news going against the narrative? He was on the Pat McAfee show.

Let's be clear. I assign zero political motive to Pat McAfee or his show. He likes talking about football. If a football guest has a political or cultural opinion, he lets the guest express it. In today's modern journalisming industry, letting anyone express an opinion that is unapproved by the Left and you might as well be insurrecting your way to the Capitol.
Though, according to our friend Bobby Burack from Outkick, Williamson never wanted McAfee because Williamson is an old-school cable TV guy who doesn't understand things like YouTube and the internets. Williamson wanted Colin Cowherd, who might be a bigger "television" draw, but the people over his head went with the uber-popular McAfee to draw a new audience to the network.
There was concern among McAfee fans when the deal was first announced, that ESPN was going to water down the show. That is clearly not the case. Whether or not the show lasts much longer on ESPN is a different story.
