Patricia Heaton UNLOADS on Jack Dorsey Over Twitter's Censoring of Movie
Over the weekend, the Abby Johnson biopic Unplanned hit theaters. Also over the weekend, the movie was suspended from Twitter. For reason's known only to CEO Jack Dorsey. And probably the pro-abortion engineer who pressed the big, red, shiny SUSPEND button. I guess it could be one of those Twitter accidents we hear about. Accidents that only seem to go in one direction. Either way, the site had its suspension lifted after an outcry from pro-lifers.
Which brings us to "accident" number two. As people tried following the Unplanned Twitter account, they kept getting unfollowed. Automatically. Probably "accidentally" again, too. Normally I think the company dismisses these complaints as coming from randos with red X's in their profile. But I don't think ignoring the problem will work when actress Patricia Heaton is blasting you for it.
Hey @jack - why aren’t you letting me follow @UnplannedMovie ? I’ve tried eight times to support my friend… https://t.co/XaD1azGwLC— Patricia Heaton (@Patricia Heaton) 1554092233.0
The problem "appears" to be fixed. I followed the account last night, and I'm still following it as of...right now.
Twitter pulling this crap is nothing new. However, Heaton's tweet is the first time someone from outside the usual peanut gallery has complained about it.
For Jack Dorsey, it's one of two easy choices. Admit this wasn't an accident and fire the person responsible to make an example out of them. Or just admit what your platform really is and enjoy being regulated by the government. Your choice, Spanky.
