Pediatricians Condemn Pro-Transgender NatGeo: 'Institutionalized Child Abuse...'
Last month National Geographic made history by announcing its first cover to feature a transgender chitlin (see PROGRESS: NatGeo Goes Full Crazy, Pushes Transgender 'Revolution'). The "Gender Revolution" issue repeatedly displayed that of a defiantly posed, pink-haired, gender-swapped impling. It was promptly heralded as progress. But what's progress to some is child abuse to others. And by "others," I mean the American College of Pediatricians...
[The] president of the American College of Pediatricians [said] National Geographic is "promoting a political agenda over science and the wellbeing of innocent children...""'Affirming' so called transgender children means sterilizing them as young as 11 years old. Puberty blockers plus cross-sex hormones causes permanent sterility. And biological girls who 'transition' to male by taking testosterone may have a double mastectomy at age 16. The lifetime use of cross-sex hormones also puts these children at risk for stroke, heart disease, diabetes, cancers and more."
"When academic, medical and other public institutions propagate the lifetime use of toxic hormones and the surgical removal of healthy body parts as healthcare for children they are engaged in institutionalized child abuse," she said.
It's significant that they're coming out against social justice fairies on this issue. A few things worth noting here, before the left gets all gender bent out of shape...
Firstly, normalizing self-mutilation and gender confusion isn't "brave." Notice anything about the front page? They put an androgynous-looking nine-year-old on the cover. Not a sad, fake-boobed, jaw-shaved husk of a 40-year-old girl-man. Methinks reactions would be much different if Stephoknee graced the cover in all his glossy glory. Less "aww" more upchucking.
Instead, National Geographic specifically chose to show only one, tiny part of the transgender journey - the mildest part. Convenient. And cowardly.
Though to be fair to the magazine, it's hard to romanticize portly men stuffed to the brim with estrogen, which is then stuffed into bursting pantyhose. Or a fileted beef log. Not to minimize the grossness of what NatGeo did choose, though. Imagine the photo-shoot? Cringeworthy. Stand up straight and tuck those manberries, child!
By the way, these people denouncing NatGeo? They're doctors. They know science. The left does not. Also, pediatricians know a thing or two about kids. Their opinions carry some weight. Though admittedly probably not as much weight as LGBT activists. They tend to pack quite a bit of heft. While the media glamorizes puberty blockers and body part hacking, real doctors are disavowing their ways. Alas, to liberals, child abuse is a small price to pay for progress...
