Gun control activists like to paint criminals as waltzing out of gun shops with scary black assault rifles all wrapped in pretty little packages, legally purchased. A recently completed Pennsylvania study confirms that criminals get guns via gun show loopholes. Just kidding, they steal the guns. Admit it, I had you there for a second.

Nearly 80 percent of perpetrators carrying a gun recovered by Pittsburgh Police were not lawful owners, a strong indication that theft and trafficking are significant sources of firearms involved in crimes in southwest Pennsylvania, a new University of Pittsburgh Graduate School Health analysis reveals.

Dr. Anthony Fabio, assistant professor of epidemiology at Pitt Public Health [and] his team analyzed 762 cases in which a gun was recovered by the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Firearm Tracking Unit...

A majority of criminals didn't legally own the gun they used to crime it up. Hopefully you were seated in an ergonomically approved chair, lest you fall from the shock of this study's results.

Now, clearly the Pitt Public Health team only studied a portion of the US population. But 700+ cases? That's enough to notice a pattern. The law didn't stop them from stealing a gun, and the law also didn't stop them from using said gun to be a turd burgler.

Notice how mainstream media leaves out these details? Details like criminals do criminalistic things? Like stealing weapons? Like not going through the proper channels that LEGAL gun owners go through? If I wasn't a paranoid, redneck racist, I'd say that's more than just a coincidence. Either way, studies like this usually end up where all unwanted facts go to wither and die. If they don't fit the current narrative of choice, they're quietly swept under the inclusive, rainbow rug.
