After this clip from Monday's hearing, Rep. Carlos Gimenez clarified, "So you’re saying the more pain we have, the more benefit we’re gonna get? I think that’s what I heard you say." Buttigieg said that isn't what he said at all, and that what he said is that we would all benefit by making electric vehicles "cheaper." Except, that isn't what he said. We heard him say what he actually said. It's in the clip. And it echos what we hear over and over from the White House. Buttigieg only left out the part where he blames Putin.

Side note: If the battery on your EV goes, it's cheaper to buy a NEW CAR than it is to replace the battery. And forget about going on road trips.

Buttigieg is not the first Democrat to announce they don't care about your high gas prices since they drive a luxury car. You just have to keep suffering with higher gas prices. OR the government can increase spending to make EVs cheaper. Then you and your EV can both suffer under the increased inflation. Again, your pain is the point.
