In theory, Pete Hegseth was the best chance Democrats had to block one of Donald Trump's cabinet nominees—more so than RFK Jr. or Tulsi Gabbard. However, there was an all-out media assault on him. Democratic senators were all set to perform for the cameras and press "send" on their fundraising solicitations as soon as their performance ended. As CNN's lone voice of reason, Scott Jennings, eloquently put it, they failed in spectacular fashion.

First the left tried calling him a rapist. That didn't take. Then they tried calling him a drunk. There was a swing and a miss there, too. The only thing left was to trip him up at his hearing. On CNN, Scott Jennings pulled his best Don Henley and got right down to the heart of the matter.

If this is what we can expect from Democrats under Trump, all of his nominees will sail through.

Pete Hegseth kicked the Democrats' @$$es today. It wasn't even close. They didn't land a glove. No mistakes, calm, cool, collected. The Democrats behaved in such a bizarre and unprofessional way. I was appalled. Tim Kaine sounded like a sex pervert. Blumenthal - who lied about his service - questioned Hegseth's qualifications. They all went on unhinged rants. On and on and on. They made him look good today.

All while Dana Bash and whoever the brunette was (it doesn't matter) did their best impersonation of a Democrat senator.

Let's call it what it is. Senate and/or congressional hearings are the most useless pieces of political theatre We The People put ourselves through outside of the State of the Union address. The only people who benefit and those of us who hustle content for a living. The Hegseth hearings delivered with great aplomb.

Also, and this is key, Pete Hegseth is your next Secretary of Defense. All Democrats managed to do yesterday is remind American why so many of us hate Democrats.
