Illegal immigration is a contentious issue. On one hand are the lefties, who want to take in all the illegals, indiscriminately. On the other are people with brains, who think we already have our fill of rapists, murderers, and other violent offenders. Think I'm painting with too broad a brush? Well, hear me out. Phoenix dropped their sanctuary city status and started enforcing the law...and crime rates went down. For realsies...

A six-year study published last year by the University of California, Riverside found "violent crime is slightly higher in sanctuary cities." It concluded there was "no statistically discernible difference in violent crime rates, rape, or property crime across" 55 cities studied.

And at least one city, Phoenix, saw a drop in crime after it eliminated its sanctuary city status, according to former law enforcement officials.

In May 2008, Phoenix reversed itself, becoming a non-sanctuary state. Under the policy, police had full discretion to ask suspects about their immigration status and had the freedom to call ICE.

"We saw a decrease in crime," said Bolton. "It had a deterrent effect on folks because the risk of discovery went up exponentially when we actually enforced the law."

Mind=Blown...

I'm no expert but, looking at this development, one could almost say there's a link between violent crime and illegal immigration. Leftists, despite knowing about the tidal wave of violence illegals bring, support the crap out of sanctuary cities (see DNC Chair Accuses Trump Of ‘Bullying’… For Asking Sanctuary Cities to Enforce the Law?! and AWESOME! Minority Americans Blast Sanctuary Cities: “Illegal Immigration is Racist!”). Well, at least until the illegals start moving in next door. But, maybe this revelation will give them pause...

This is only one city that saw a drop in crime. Now, imagine that in every city across the country. You get a much safer place, free of evil pendejos who want to murder you and take your stuff. That's what would happen if leftists allowed la Migra to do their job and enforce the law.

Illegals, if the name wasn't obvious enough, don't care about following the rules. So, it's up to us to teach them. We can start by punting their fence-jumping asses back to Juarez.
