Trickle Down Backlash: Pittsburgh Store Feeling Effects of Steelers Boycott [Video]
The backtracking after AnthemGatePaloozaGhazi, mostly in Pittsburgh, is real (see Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin Has Had Enough: Just Let Us Play Ball and The Backtracking Begins! Ben Roethlisberger Regrets Sitting Out the Anthem). To save you some clicks, the team decided to hide during the anthem, except for one guy who made them all look like idiots. Let's just say the fans are seven layers of pissed.
How pissed? Local merchants like this Pittsburgh store are feeling it.
Since Sunday when most Pittsburgh Steelers stayed in the locker room for the national anthem, Susan Moedinger, owner of Steel City Sports in the Rockvale Outlets, has heard from dozens of customers who are now boycotting her store.
This is a shame because here's someone who had nothing to do with the team's decision, but because the decision to pander to the left, small business like this one are feeling the pinch too.
Also, just because the Steelers made a bad call, there's no excuse for Steelers fans (or former fans) to be absolute turds to innocent store owners like this woman. It's sad to hear that upset fans are taking it out on business owners who had zero to do with what any player did, said, didn't say, or didn't do. Let's be semi-adult about this, yeah?
Because this all started with the NFL. Not private business owners. Get some facts:
