2020 was the year Democrats introduced the phrase "Defund the Police." They won't admit it now after getting shellacked across the country on Election Day. But it was their rallying cry. ON A TEENAGER AND A SQUIRREL and TIM SCOTT UNLOADS ON DEMOCRATS: THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DEMONIZE COPS). On the other side of that were newly demonized police officers. Their jobs weren't hard enough. Now they had elected officials throwing them under the bus for political points.

One time in 11th grade, a cop spoke to my class. Two things always stuck with me. One was his joke about donuts. Stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason. The other is what he said about New York City police officers. "They've seen enough horror to last three lifetimes." This was thirty years ago. Men and women on the job have had thirty years of things getting worse.

Are there "bad" cops? Sure. There are also bad politicians and bad bloggers, both of whom cops shield and protect from the things they see on a daily basis. Next time someone posts an out-of-context video of police interactions, think about that. Think about this video.
