DC restaurant forced to remove elephant from their sign, too many neighbors complained about the GOP
If someone becomes so triggered that they cannot be bothered to look at an elephant because it reminds them of the Republican party, that’s a sign they are legally retarded and should not be taken seriously. However, one DC restaurant felt they had no choice but to acquiesce to leftist outrage and remove their tavern logo after woke demands.
Political Pattie’s in Washington DC had a logo with a blue donkey and a red elephant. This is not something that should be controversial but we currently live in a time where mental illness is gloried and here we are. Subsequently, they were forced to issue a public apology even though the first rule of being canceled is never to apologize to the mob. However, I am not here to victim blame as this is their business and these people need to make a living.

According to The Post Millennial:
Shortly after opening Thursday, the owners removed both the elephant and donkey and painted over the “Political” part of the pub’s name but explained on X that they weren’t happy about the backlash, which they described as “mean spirited.”
“Soon after our logo was painted on our building’s facade, we realized that the representation of the red elephant was hurtful to the community,” owners Andrew Benbow and Sydney Bradford said in a written statement on their Instagram account. “And out of respect, we decided to change the logo, removing both the donkey and the elephant.”
The fact that the tavern had to cave to these demands shows how intolerant the alleged side of “tolerance” really is. And, astonishingly, they think they are the compassionate ones.
Benbow is the Republican of the two, though he reportedly isn’t voting for Donald Trump come November, per the Washingtonian. Bradford is an attorney with a flair for civil rights cases, who’s also a Democrat. Both were born and raised in DC and both are black.
So are we no longer lifting Black voices or what? And we can almost be certain that everyone who had a problem with this was White, not that that even matters.
“We view the online backlash that we’ve recently received to be mean spirited, especially considering our original and continued intent to be a space that is welcoming to ALL people, including members of the LGBTQ community. We do not tolerate homophobia, transphobia, racism or any other form of bigotry. As Black Americans, anything else would be antithetical to our very existence,” the owners wrote in their post. The statement also says they did not “push out” or “take over” the previous owners of the Dirty Goose.
This couple intended to create a space where everyone is welcome but the only problem with that is that you cannot welcome Conservatives in progressive utopia. That’s not how these things work with the “inclusive” crowd.
The fact that people had such an issue with this proves how pathetic society has gotten, as literally pictures of elephants are now seen as a problem.
Moral of the story: Don’t open up a business in our nation's capital, as nothing good can come from it.
