LOL: New poll shows Americans prefer Trump OVER Biden when it comes to "protecting democracy"

You often hear Biden and those on the left complain that Trump is literally Hitler and that MAGA is the biggest existential threat humanity has ever faced. However, Americans are not so easily confined.
A new poll shows that the people Biden needs to gaslight the most are not so convinced that he is the one for the job.
US swing state voters think democracy is important, but they trust Trump - the autocrat in waiting, who tried to overturn a fair election with violence - to handle it. I despair. https://t.co/JDrjJ8LzMs

According to The Washington Post:
President Biden and his Democratic allies have cast his reelection campaign as a battle for the country’s survival, warning that a second Donald Trump presidency would present an existential threat to American democracy.
In speeches and campaign ads, Biden points to Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, his incitement of an angry mob that ransacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and the former president’s boasts that he will use the powers of his office to punish his political enemies.
Blah. Blah. Blah. Jan. 6. Blah. Blah. Blah. And the nerve of these people to suggest Trump will go after political enemies is unreal.
But that message may not be resonating with the voters Biden needs in order to win another term in the White House.
In six swing states that Biden narrowly won in 2020, a little more than half of voters classified as likely to decide the presidential election say threats to democracy are extremely important to their vote for president, according to a poll by The Washington Post and the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University.
Yet, more of them trust Trump to handle those threats than Biden. And most believe that the guardrails in place to protect democracy would hold even if a dictator tried to take over the country.
Maybe one day WaPo will report on something we don’t already know but as of writing this, that has yet to happen. By this article it appears the writer is baffled as to how this is possible, considering Jan. 6 may or may not be a thing.
These people act as if Trump can just do anything he wants, but that is not how these things work, and that is exactly why we have checks and balances. You can’t just say Trump is going to take over the world when he does not have the means to do that.
If the Biden Administration wishes to convince voters in swing states they are the ones to defend democracy, they should actively do things to defend democracy. Biden has said that if you vote for Trump that it is a threat to this republic, which does not sound very democratic if you ask me. He has also said countless times how much of a threat he thinks Republicans are, which means he basically hates half country.
Someone should really tell Biden his job is to defend the freedoms of all Americans, even those who didn’t vote for him.
