It's a sad day. The coolest dog to ever live just died.

URL, a police dog for the Weber County Sheriff's Office, passed away after a lifetime of putting perverts and pedophiles in jail. URL was an Electronic Storage Detection Canine, which means he could literally sniff out the child porn in the homes of sickos. He was dubbed the "porn-sniffing dog" by the police department.

URL worked on over 2,000 search warrants to sniff out electronic devices that stored porn. The Weber County Sheriff's Office detailed some of URL's most impressive finds in a Facebook post:

" [...] Finding a USB drive disguised as a key on a keyring full of keys, finding a micro-SD card in a closed baby jar that was in a small pencil box full of items that was also placed in a large cedar chest full of miscellaneous items, an SD Card that was high on a shelf in a St. George, Utah residence, a cell phone hidden in a book, and even cell phone parts that were hidden in a wall behind a toilet in the Weber County Jail."

For his porn-sniffing expertise, URL gained a lot of media attention, including from Breitbart, The Washington Post, The Daily Mail, and The Sun. He was even interviewed by Terry Crews and featured on COPS in 2017.

But this story gets even better. Not only was URL a badass pedo-buster. He was an inspirational underdog who no one thought would succeed.

He was not originally bred as a police dog and was passed around from pound to pound. He had actually earned a reputation of being "untrainable." Luckily, someone eventually recognized his unique talents and affinity for busting pedophiles, and he received proper training.

So the moral of the story is: if this former pound-puppy was able to turn his life around and put thousands of pedophiles in jail, you can probably do something kind of interesting with your life too.

You probably won't be as cool as this dog though. Sorry.
