We had a massive story exposing Pornhub today. Mike Farley, an executive top employee, revealed a “loophole” users exploit to upload illegal content.
Did you know there are more slaves now than possibly ever in human history? And arguably, the worst kind, which is sex slavery.
Undercover journalist Arden Young with the organization Sound Investigations has exposed how Pornhub exploits legal loopholes that allow rapists and traffickers to upload illegal content.
Pornhub would also rather not comply with age-verification laws and lobbies against them.
The illegal content goes way farther than just someone not wanting their sex tape posted, which is bad enough, but it is worse than that because its child pornography, human trafficking, rape, and more.
After a New York Times article titled "The Children of Pornhub" exposed how the site monetizes off of child rape, the site claimed it removed all unverified videos from its platform. Which does not say much as to how that prevents the illegal content from being uploaded.
An exclusive video shared with Mug Club undercover proves that Pornhub never solved this problem and that they never intended to. Mike Farley, the technical product manager at MindGeek, the parent company of Pornhub, detailed a loophole for traffickers and rapists to exploit the system to upload abhorrent content.
Basically, users verify themselves by uploading government IDs. Then they upload porn that does not show the face and claim that they are the ones in the video because the faces are blurred.
When Young asked Farley if he thought anything slips through the cracks when people upload content he confidently responded, "of course, 100 percent." He went on, “How are you going to tell me who's in that video of the girl not showing her face?”
“I looked at that and I'm like, that's stupid but everybody’s just kind of rolling with it.”
Farley said that the loophole is exploited by just about everyone.
"Because you make a lot of money,” he said.
“For example, I could sign up tomorrow. I submit my ID, I'm putting all my real identification, my bank account and everything. And I just rip content from other people where it likes oh, this guys body could be mine based on my face. I don't know, something like that. This guy, okay, whatever. He looks kind of similar. I could just rip those videos, upload them as my own, and the people who view my video will probably be like, yeah, this is him in the video. And be like, that's close enough and I'm going to make thousands of dollars,” Farley said.
When the undercover journalist asked if rapists and human traffickers can use it, he said “of course.”
Pornhub is essentially creating a worldwide market for this to take place.
The people in charge of the company know what's going on, yet they allow it to happen, according to Farley. Oh, and government officials already did their investigations and were satisfied with how things were being handled.
