The #SchumerShutdown was a colossal failure. Minnesota put up more of a fight against The Eagles. Honestly, Philadelphia Eagles fans put up more of a fight against each other than the Democrats did with the shutdown. Apparently closing the government over illegal immigrants was a bad move. But hey, Schumer still needs to score some points. Let's attack Trump's leadership skills.

Sarah Sanders was having none of it.

"What the president did clearly worked,” the press secretary stated. “The vote just came in 81-18. Those numbers are much more in the president’s favor than in Senator Schumer’s favor. I’m not sure what changed other than maybe Nancy Pelosi taking members out for dinner to celebrate their shutdown.”

"I’m not sure what other positive things came out of this weekend for Democrats."

Here's the thing. Think of a UFC fight. With the losing fighter complaining it was his opponent's fault for not letting himself get punched in the face. Voila! That's Schumer's defense. Democrats were counting on Trump to make a mess of things. He didn't. Democrats lost.

Turns out the only plan Democrats have is Trump's lack of self control on social media. That's it.

To be fair, it's a pretty safe bet. But when the president doesn't blow up deals by live tweeting Fox & Friends, Democrats have no Plan B. As a result? We have a Democrat party who is against cutting your taxes AND is now willing to shut down the government over illegal immigrants.

As we used to say back in the day, smooth move ex-lax.
