Princeton Students Demand Safe Space, Because of Course...
Remember when attending Princeton made everyone think you were smart? Like, people would look at you in awe because, sure, you didn't make Harvard, but Princeton is pretty darn good enough? Yeah, those days are gone. Now Princeton is just another front in the social justice warrior war on whatever is bothering them this week or any week. They probably don't like the word "week" because, trigger warning, it sounds just like "weak" and that's racist. Or sexist? Or... oh whatever. Here's what's happening at Princess and the Pea ton. There's a list of "demands" going round. Be sure you're not drinking anything, you might spray it all over your device when you read these demands. You've been warned.
'WE DEMAND cultural competency training for all staff and faculty.' The letter states that this request was previously voted down on free speech grounds, and requests classes on the history of marginalized peoples be added to the list of distribution requirements.'WE DEMAND a cultural space on campus dedicated specifically to Black students, and that space can be within the Carl A. Fields Center but should be clearly marked.' The BJL stipulates that the naming of the space be left to student discretion so as to avoid naming it after a 'white benefactor or person with bigoted beliefs, as evidenced by the naming of Stanhope Hall.
"Previously voted down on free speech grounds." That's a thing that was written, meant to be taken seriously, not posted over on The Onion. So much rich irony...yep I got gout. Might consider filing a claim against these leftists, for all the gout they're giving me.
Now, you would think that going to one of the most prestigious universities in the country would be a safe space, yet here we are. Also, maybe you heard, there are terrorists in Paris blowing stuff up and killing lots of people. But these students at Princeton, they feel triggered. Hey, in a free country, one must complain about something. If one doesn't have real problems, just invent them. Speaking of liberalism and how it's destroying everything, read 2015: The Year Liberalism's Chickens Came Home to Roost.
I also wonder what happens if a white or Asian person enters said space to talk about racism? Spoiler alert: she gets booed.
This is college now. You can read more of our thoughts on that here.
