They say don’t commit the crime if you don’t have the time, but the City of San Francisco does not care about that, as they would rather increase punishment solely because of the income system.

The Speed Safety System Pilot Program has officially launched in San Francisco, and speeding cameras will now fine drivers. That’s bad enough, but a new state law allows cities to decrease or increase punishment based on income status.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember there's this little thing called "equality under the law." However, you can't have equality when you are dedicated to equity, and these people are beholden to that despite being morally and logically incorrect

According to Fox News:

The Speed Safety System Pilot Program was signed by Newsom in October 2023 and allows cities across California to use speeding cameras to fine drivers. Those considered lower-income are eligible for a steep discount if they receive a speeding ticket.

Violations for speeding range from $50 to $500, but individuals with a household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level are eligible for a 50% discount, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. Indigent persons, or individuals who are homeless, are eligible for an 80% discount on the speeding ticket.

San Francisco officials launched the program on March 20 with a total of 33 speeding cameras around the city, but only around half of them are operational.

Instead of focusing on things like the retail theft epidemic or the zombie apocalypse, the city and state would much rather focus on this. The priorities are extremely lacking.

A fact sheet for the pilot program states that speeding cameras were placed across the city "in an equitable fashion."

The same violation should face the same punishment, but the city has decided to punish people solely because they are more successful. This is unsurprising, as SF leadership often prioritizes policies that penalize success or good decision-making while rewarding bad behavior. So while state and local officials think it’s compassionate to fine people based on nothing to do with the crime, that could not be further from the truth.

You would think that prosecuting shoplifters would be more of a concern, but that does not even cross their minds.

They should also be cleaning up their streets, but these things only get worse under a progressive utopia.

So, while the city faces self-imposed challenges, officials have chosen to prioritize a system that ultimately leads to unfair justice—an outcome that slaps the integrity of our legal system into oblivion. I don't think these people can get any more pathetic if they tried.
