The left hates when a black person decides to think for themselves. They don’t tend to hide it, either. Candace Owens, Thomas Sowell, Byron Donalds, Tim Scott: The list of people who the left has decided aren’t black enough goes on and on. But if there’s one they hate with a particular fervor, it’s Justice Clarence Thomas.

Recently, several members of Congress have called for Thomas’ resignation from the Supreme Court—I’ll give you three chances to guess what party they are in, and I bet you’ll only need one. But they certainly don’t harbor any negative feelings about the man.

At least, that’s what Representative Hakeem Jeffries hopes you believe. And he might actually believe it, too, which is probably why, in a recent hearing, he asked for evidence of such animosity toward Justice Thomas. He obviously wasn’t expecting it to make him look like the clown he appeared to be.

JEFFRIES: What evidence do you have that we Democrats hate that Uncle Tom over there?

PAOLETTA: Well, first, you guys call him an Uncle Tom.

JEFFRIES: We have freedom of speech. We can say whatever we want.

PAOLETTA: Yeah, you want me to point out other examples.

JEFFRIES: No.

Jeffries’ muddled rant about free speech was a confusing word salad. I’m sure he was still dazed from the slap in the face he’d just received.

The notion that the left hates Clarence Thomas is verifiably true. It doesn’t take more than a few seconds online to find a litany of media think-pieces slandering him or a tweet from a member of Congress doing the same. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mark Paoletta, who was testifying before the House subcommittee, had a long list of examples printed out.

Democrats have had it out for Thomas since before his confirmation to the Supreme Court. As the fate of Roe v. Wade hangs in the balance, the attacks are only going to get worse.
