Woke governor signs law providing assistance to first-time home buyers, provided they aren't White
So, it turns out, there is this little thing called “equality under the law” and that it’s not legal to favor one race over another. However, it appears that Washington Governor Bob Ferguson may not have gotten the memo, as he just signed a law that prioritizes down payment assistance for first-time home buyers if they have a certain skin color.

According to a press release from state Democrats:
Launched in 2024, the Covenant Homeownership Program provides zero-interest loans to help first-time homebuyers cover down payments and closing costs. To date, the program has enabled over 200 families in more than 20 counties to access homeownership.
Currently, about 69% of white households in Washington own their homes, compared to just 34% of Black households. This disparity persists across income levels, with the most significant gap seen among households earning less than $50,000 annually.
I am just going to take a wild guess here, but this likely has much more to do with income status than it does with skin color, but I am no housing expert, so take that with a grain of salt.
“Expanding this program is a step toward closing the homeownership gap between Black and white households in our state,” said Rep. Taylor. “It’s not the only solution to the systemic inequities caused by centuries of discrimination, but it is meaningful progress.”
The expansion includes: Income eligibility raised from 100% of the area median income (AMI) to 120%. Loan forgiveness after five years for households earning 80% or less of AMI. Oversight Committee membership changed to include a representative from a nonprofit housing counseling organization.
There is no evidence that any of these people would have suffered from any form of discrimination. And call me crazy, but if something is evil, maybe we should not be correcting that wrong by doing it to other people who are not guilty of the sin.
And the worst part? Not only are the loans interest-free, but they are forgiven after five years.
Now hear me out: if you can’t afford the down payment, that’s a pretty clear sign you’re not ready to buy a home. But the left does not seem to care, as they behave in blatantly racist ways, all while pretending to help victims when, in reality, these so-called victims have never experienced the kind of hardship they claim.
What’s also so disgusting about these changes is that they prioritize one skin color over another when there are so many White people out there who could also benefit from such a program. And the fact that state Democrats claim this is a step to correct “the systemic inequities caused by centuries of discrimination” is deeply pathetic, yet totally illegal.
So, while they claim to be righting a historical wrong, what they’re really doing is rewarding people who were never affected by it and punishing others for an ancestral crime they didn’t commit. You truly cannot get a more deranged form of justice than that.
