When Rand Paul announced on Thursday that he was GOING TO make an announcement about the 2024 presidential race, you knew he was up to something. If he had someone to endorse, he could have just said "I'm for DeSantis" or "Sure, I guess Trump." And while the Kentucky Senator has things he likes about other candidates -- Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Robert Kennedy, Donald Trump - there is one candidate he is 100% NOT endorsing. Nikki Haley.

Rand's big announcement was the launch of NeverNikki.net.

"I'm not yet ready to make a decision, but I am ready to make a decision on someone who I cannot support," Paul stated. "So, I'm announcing this morning that I'm Never Nikki. Based on her record and campaign, I don’t see how any thoughtful or informed libertarian or conservative should vote for Nikki Haley."

He's collecting signatures and the operation is paid for by his US Senate campaign. Don't knock the hustle!

Senator Paul's video announcement was then followed by a length tweet thread (or, I guess an X-thread) highlighting all the reasons why he is Never Nikki.

"While most others were decrying the mistakes of the past 20 years, and fighting for an America First foreign policy, Nikki Haley was aligning herself with and declaring her foreign policy allies to be John McCain and Lindsey Graham." Editor's Note: Lindsey Graham is Donald Trump's state co-chair.

"Beyond the issues of endless wars, Nikki Haley's lack of respect for freedom of speech is shocking to anyone who believes in the constitution," the Senator continued addressing Haley wanting to go after anonymous social media accounts. "Haley believes that all internet posters should be registered and verified. This flies in the face of a free American Republic whose founders wrote anonymously the Federalist Papers and routinely posted newspaper articles and pamphlets under Pseudonyms.

"If you want to move quickly to domestic policy, in South Carolina, Nikki Haley advocated for a gas tax hike, a state-run vaccine registry and never lifted a finger for school choice."

"Nikki Haley routinely praised the mission of the United Nations, the results they achieved, and the people who ran it. ;I believe the U.N. does valuable work.' By that, she means your tax dollars since the US is the primary funder of UN." Editor's Note: Haley served as President Trump's Ambassador to the UN.

We'll see how the other candidates have fun with this later on in the day. I'm sure three out of four of them will. The fourth will cry that he wasn't endorsed.

The Iowa Caucus is -- FINALLY -- taking place this Monday. It will either be the beginning of the end, or we'll get six more weeks of campaigning.
