Criminal who attempted to murder Rand Paul Staffer was out of jail less than a day before the attack
Over the weekend, one of Rand Paul's staffers was attacked by a knife-wielding criminal in Washington D.C. The attack apparently occurred in broad daylight. Which makes sense, since it's D.C.
Paul released a statement about the incident, saying, "This past weekend a member of my staff was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C. I ask you to join Kelley and me in praying for a speedy and complete recovery, and thanking the first responders, hospital staff, and police for their diligent actions. We are relieved to hear the suspect has been arrested. At this time we would ask for privacy so everyone can focus on healing and recovery.”

The suspect has since been identified as Glynn Neal. Neal was previously sentenced to 12 years and four months in jail on charges of “compelling an individual to live a life of prostitution without his or her consent” and “threat to kidnap to injure a person." And he got out one day before attacking Paul's staffer. Which also makes, since it's D.C. we're talking about here.

The D.C. city council recently tried to reduce penalties for violent crimes, even as the city resorts to reminding people of God's words, "thou shalt not kill," to try and bring down the horrific homicide rate.
As for the staffer, Phillip Todd, he suffered a deep knife wound to his head and is in critical condition. His uncle said there was damage to his spleen and some leaking in other areas and asked for prayers regarding "damage to abdomen area, skull, brain, collapsed lung, etc."
