Disney isn’t the only organization that has chosen to die on the child-grooming hill in the aftermath of Florida passing its “Parental Rights in Education” bill. The nation’s largest teachers’ union is ready to jump in, as well. And while the numerous recorded reactions from teachers around the country have been disgusting enough, the statement from the president of the American Federation of Teachers takes the cake.

Speaking on the topic of the Florida bill, Fox reports, AFT president Randi Weingarten said, “This notion – we've been very lucky in America, and we in some ways live in a bubble for a long time. This is propaganda. This is misinformation. This is the way in which wars start. This is the way in which hatred starts.”

With that in mind, let’s get just a few things straight.

On the subject of propaganda, the teachers’ unions have been injecting verifiably false, misleading, and politicized propaganda into classrooms across the country. They’ve also recently been working to call anything anyone says in criticism of the union’s propaganda, attempting to rally various entities to censor such criticisms.

As far as misinformation, the unions worked hand-in-glove with the CDC to revise guidance specifically to keep schools either closed or remote. They deem anything in contravention of left-wing positions to be misinformation.

Weingarten adds that the teachers (read unions) “have a lot to do to help kids recover and thrive this year after two years of an unprecedented pandemic,” and it’s the alleged marginalization of LGBTQ+ students about which she has concerns. But these are lies of unbelievable proportion.

The unions, specifically Weingarten, didn’t give a single f*ck about helping children when they asked for masks to remain in place. In fact, they supported the measure, against all scientific evidence, might I add.

Furthermore, the Florida bill has absolutely nothing to do with LGBTQ+ students themselves. It serves only to limit the kind of instruction in which teachers are authorized to engage. See, but that’s the issue for Weingarten and her constituents: the only concern the unions have is for the teachers, and they don’t much like being restricted in the ways they can indoctrinate and groom your children.

Are bills like the Florida “Parental Rights in Education” bill the ways wars start? I don’t think so, and I don’t think any reasonable parent who reads the text of the bill would think so, either. But is Randi Weingarten and her repulsive ilk are feeling froggy… Well, I’ll leave it at: that’s probably not a good choice to make.
