It is being reported that the Trump rally attendee who died in Butler, PA is Corey Comperatore.

Comperatore was a retired fire chief of Buffalo Township. He'd had just turned 50.

Comperatore's friends and family have been mourning his loss. His daughter wrote:

“He shielded my body from the bullet that came at us. He loved his family. He truly loved us enough to take a real bullet for us.”

His wife wrote:

“Yesterday, what turned out to be such an exciting day for my husband especially, turned into a nightmare for our family. What my precious girls had to witness is unforgivable. What I had to was.”

Several GoFundMe's have been set up to support the victims of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, including one by Trump himself.

Another has been established for the Comperatore family.

Both campaigns have reached beyond the goals they set. Messages of support have been rolling in to Comperatore's last post on X. Please today, take a moment to remember him. Pray for him and his family.

Two more people were injured and are in critical condition. As of this moment, those victims have not been identified. Texas Representative Ronny Jackson claimed that his nephew was struck, but was not seriously injured.
