As one looks around and watches tags replaced day after day with higher prices, it might be worth wondering what the hell is going on. On the left, however, it's not so much about understanding the cause of the issue because this might upset their progressive sensibilities. What they tend to do is just point fingers at those they already don't like and continue to b*tch and moan. That's how you get things done, after all.

That's exactly what they're doing in New York as the cost of rental properties reach beyond unaffordable and deep into "What the f*ck" territory. In a piece by the Daily Mail, several people report the insane hikes in their rents. One guy on TikTok said his rent would be going up over $1300. Another TikToker lamented the cost of $8000 apartments after her landlord priced her out of her condo. These kinds of prices are enough to make anyone's head spin, but what's going on?

Well, a few things. First, several properties are rent-controlled, meaning the landlords are legally barred from raising the rents on these properties, thus making them unprofitable to rent out. This has long been a favorite policy of the progressive left, leading to the destruction of housing markets in various Democratic cities. But in New York, many landlords are withholding these unprofitable units, thus tightening the market and driving up the prices of the units for which prices aren't being unnaturally tamped down by overbearing government dickweeds.

Leftists are simply pointing at landlords and blaming them. Linda Rosenthal, a member of the New York Assembly called their actions "unconscionable," pushing for a law to fine landlords for refusing to rent out the rent-controlled units. Because the cure for moronic government policies is more laws requiring people to adhere to those moronic government policies.

But as prices go up in New York, and inflation prevents many from purchasing homes in the suburbs, people are moving, and where better to move to get away from the idiotic leftist policies you voted for than to Florida. And that's what they're doing. The influx of people moving down toward Miami is causing rental costs to rise there now, too. It's simple supply and demand. There's a semi-fixed supply of properties (because units aren't going to spring up overnight), and the demand is high, so the prices are going to go up.

One Miami resident reported she and her husband moved out of their two-bedroom apartment after the rent was going to go up to $4000. They downgraded to a one-bedroom apartment costing $2800.

[Cue record scratch] What? I just moved from Kansas to Texas during this ridiculous inflationary cycle, and I'm not even paying that much for my 2000-square-foot house with a quarter-acre yard. What are you people doing? I'm not saying to start moving to the center of the country because we don't really want your leftist brain disease spreading to our neighborhoods, but holy sh*t people.

The migration of liberals from the coasts is having effects in Texas, though, too. As the coastal cidiots (city idiots) attempt to cram themselves in the larger, more liberal cities like Austin, rents are climbing, too.

Let us not forget that Biden and his band of merry morons continue to stoke the flames of inflation and deny they have anything to do with it, making every dollar people have in their bank accounts and their wallets and stuffed under their beds worth less and less with each passing second.

So, as the entire country agonizes through this inflationary period with no clear end in sight, the dimwitted leftists who have managed to destroy their own markets are going to export their stupidity to other cities across the country, pushing up prices simply because they are fleeing their crumbling sh*tholes like so many vermin attempting to escape an inferno. And the cycle is destined to start right back over until all is a progressive wasteland and a half-soaked refrigerator box on the bad side of town costs $5000 a month.
