While Ricky Gervais is an atheist, many of us feel he is God's gift to award shows. The people in attendance don't think so, but those of us watching at home think he's simply the cat's pajamas (see RICKY GERVAIS TORCHES HOLLYWOOD'S POLITICS AT THE GOLDEN GLOBES [VIDEO] and RICKY GERVAIS LEVELS THE GOLDEN GLOBES WITH JEFFREY EPSTEIN JOKE [VIDEO]). The comedian was asked about why he enjoys take the piss out of the Hollywood elite while a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

His answer was simple. Because f*** 'em, that's why!

"I can entertain the 200 people in the room, or the 200 million people watching at home who are all sick of these overprivileged twats giving each other reach-arounds over how awesome they are."

That's a paraphrase. Ricky does a better job speaking for himself. Also, I have the video time-coded to this part, but I'd start the video from the beginning for his thoughts on his homemade badminton court, as well as mocking people panicked to get toilet paper instead of stocking up on booze like normal people. Remember the great Toilet Paper Panic of ... earlier? April seems like a generation ago.
