Ricky Gervais probably starts each morning expecting to be a tolerant chap. He's an atheist vegan from jolly 'ol England who is in the entertainment industry. Conclusions can reasonably be drawn. Then Jessica Yaniv comes trundling along (see “Transgender” Jessica Yaniv is Now Targeting Gynecologists Who Refuse Transgender Patients and JUSTICE: Jessica Yaniv Loses Battle Forcing Estheticians to Wax His Bits). And it broke the comedian. Or more accurately, he saw the wealth of new material Yaniv presented and he ran with it. Because he's Ricky F'n Gervais and don't you forget it.

Some fans took their turn at the mic. We figured if we got a snicker out of it, so should you. Company isn't only for misery, like that one time someone animated Joe Biden's hairy legs story.

I can't believe my car mechanic won't treat my clogged kitchen sink. What in the actual hell is that about? If this refusal to service things continues, pretty soon gardeners will insist they can't repair vacuum cleaners. DISCRIMINATION MUST STOP.

Then there was this one, which almost killed me.

With a slight case of refusing to ask for directions, plus a ravaging condition of failing to put the seat back down. It's a pandemic, ma'am.

Sometimes, it takes the most ridiculous example possible to get people to understand. Saying it's wrong for male athletes to steal opportunities from female athletes didn't do it. Or that girls being uncomfortable with boys using the girls' bathroom matters less than boys who want to use the bathroom. Jessica Yaniv is the extreme example that helps clarify the problem. Because if you support X, you logically have to support Y as well.

Traditionally, it's the job of comedians to point out the absurdity of the culture around them. Which Ricky Gervais does brilliantly, every time.
