Some were surprised Ricky Gervais was asked to host the Golden Globes again. Maybe the Hollywood Foreign Press Association forgot about last time. Rowling Against Hateful Transgender Allies and Ricky Gervais Scolds Violent Leftists Like Antifa and Their Milkshake-Throwing Ways). But hey. If you hire Ricky... you need to expect Ricky.

You say you're woke, but the companies you work for – I mean, unbelievable, Apple, Amazon, Disney. If ISIS started a streaming service, you would call your agent. So if you do win an award tonight, don't use it as a platform to make a political speech, right? You're in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So, if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your god, and f*** off. No one cares about your views on politics or culture.

Ricky saying this made the few winners making political speeches look that much more silly. I think Patricia Arquette told everyone in the Hollywood audience to tell everyone they knew not to vote for Donald Trump. Embarrassing enough had it just been Billy Crystal singing a medley for the monologue. After Gervais, it was embarrassing like whoa! And yes, I know Billy Crystal is more of an Oscars joke. They're all award shows. Shut up.
