Ron DeSantis dropped his first ad of the 2022 cycle. As someone who was a political consultant in a past life, I can tell you the benefit of running ads when you are likely to win you are able to pump them full of positivity and apple pie. The kind of ads voters say they want to see more of, even though negative ads are the ones that get them to vote. This first ad from America's Governor is solid, though.

It focused a lot on the pandemic since it was at least half of his first term. It's also why he became a national figure. Leftists and the media (but I repeat myself) hate being proven to be wrong almost as much as they hate opposing viewpoints. They loathe DeSantis for both reasons.

"I’m 11 years old, and I'm glad I could go to school."

The campaign did not say how much they were putting behind the ad, but it will be running statewide and digitally. "Digitally" is the key here, too. Ron DeSantis, running for reelection as Florida governor, would have no reason to put the ad on TV in places like--and this is just off the top of my head--but Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. But people from those states all have the internet and might catch a glimpse.

All that said, I am still looking forward to the negative ads. Team DeSantis is well adept at using film editing software. Not that the governor would need to go negative. It's just really fun to do.
