Conservatives sound off: It's time to move on from Trump to Ron DeSantis
Ron DeSantis had a great night last night and Donald Trump did not. Yes, I know that a lot of the people Trump endorsed in uncompetitive districts won, and he might try to take credit that his endorsements of people like Marco Rubio being the reason they won. But the only red wave washed over Florida while many Trump endorses lost (albeit, some with Democrat help).
The rub is most of the "It's DeSantis' party" now is coming from cable news and knees are jerking in response. I get that but the criticism isn't only coming from the Joe Todds and Chuck Scarbroughs of the world. Here are how four prominent conservatives see things after last night. Two of them aren't even anti-Trump as much as trying to be analytical. There's still a lot of data to come in. People are tired and/or hungover.
The Blaze's Steve Deace compared Trump's and DeSantis's night side by side.
The rest of us need to consider in this upcoming primary that he's just not sellable to the country at-large any longer. It might be too early too definitively declare that today, but next year when this primary kicks into high gear it should at least be discussed.

And he is very message disciplined. He doesn't pick fights just to pick them, and he doesn't threaten provocative actions that creates additional tension and divisiveness, but just does those provocative actions and makes the other side react.

The Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro was more vocal about his belief it is time for Trump to move on.
7. The Republican leadership class, paralyzed by the Trump phenomenon, failed to provide any leadership at all...
8. Except for DeSantis, who was a leader, an excellent candidate, and an organizer of his own party, leading to a Florida red tsunami.

Filmmaker Matt Walsh made it clear the GOP needs to replace ALL LEADERSHIP -- including Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy. As for Trump vs DeSantis, here was his take on both men.
DeSantis blew the competition away while much of the rest of the Republican Party underperformed. What exactly is the argument against DeSantis 2024?

Blogger and activist Mike Cernovich, who came to prominence during Trump's first run in 2015, was the bluntest out of everyone. Cernovich says it is time for a change.
Trump has 0 shot at 2024 general. After tonight, this isn’t up for debate. I was around in 2015 when he had “no chance,” and accurately said he’d win. Threw biggest inauguration event in 2017.
Times change or he changed or whatever.
DeSantis in 2024 or accept total defeat.

Donald Trump his schedule to make a "big announcement" next Tuesday. He announced that he would be making the announcement last Monday. it was after seventy-two hours of rallies reminding voters across the country he was still there, and during the final seventy-two hours when undecided voters start to decide. It is expected Trump will announce he is running for reelection as president. Trump has also attacked DeSantis on two different occasions in the past week, but DeSantis has yet to return fire. Emphasis on "yet."
It's causing supporters for both men to snipe at each other on Twitter with a lot of criticism going Trump's way. That needs to stop. We can't be fighting with each other like this. Not to mention, only someone as smart and handsome as Donald Trump would have the courage to put America First and step aside to endorse Ron DeSantis for president.
Let's everyone stop the infighting. That doesn't get us anywhere.
