Activist "journalist" caught on hot mic saying what she wants to do to Ron DeSantis, Team DeSantis wrecks her face
I thought we had left the whole "journalists are heroes literally on par with WWII vets" mentality back in the Trump administration, but we, unfortunately, aren't so lucky. Governor DeSantis has reignited the misplaced martyrdom in their endless crusade against "fascism,' which they define as anything to the right of trans-ing all the kids.
First Coast reporter Atyia Collins was caught on a hot mic claiming her job is to make Governor DeSantis "uncomfortable." Speaking with a colleague before DeSantis's Jacksonville press conference, Collins said, "My job here is to ask the tough questions and make him uncomfortable, I guess." Her colleague told her to "go for it," to which Collins replied, "I’mma try to at least get one."
Christina Pushaw from Team DeSantis tweeted out a video of Collins's snafu and warned her to be wary of hot mics next time she wants to make the Governor uncomfortable.
“For reference, this is the journactivist today:”— Christina Pushaw 🐊 🇺🇸 (@Christina Pushaw 🐊 🇺🇸) 1676395893
So did Collins succeed in making DeSantis uncomfortable? Er, not exactly. Probably more like mildly irritated. A guy can only disabuse so many narratives before it becomes tiresome work.
Collins's question was, "We have seen bookshelves in schools empty in response to Florida’s new guidelines on books. I wonder–”
Now, I know what you're thinking - that wasn't a question. That's because DeSantis actually cut her off before she could finish to point out that the question she was going to ask was based on a false premise. He must've been absolutely shaking in his boots.
DeSantis went on to explain that Florida law bans adults from giving pornography to school children. Y'know, like all fascists do.
“Gov. DeSantis refutes false media narrative about "book bans":

"Florida law prohibits an adult from giving a school child pornography...that's been the law for a long time. So understand, they're talking about long standing Florida law that's trying to protect young children."”— DeSantis War Room 🐊 (@DeSantis War Room 🐊) 1676394930
I'm no journalist, but I feel like a good rule of thumb would be to always start your "zinger" questions off with a true allegation. Again, not a journalist. Just a citizen with a brain.
