And this is why Ron DeSantis is America's Governor.

"You do not have to wear those masks. Please take them off. Honestly, it's not doing anything. We've gotta stop with this Covid theater. So if you wanna wear it, fine, but this is ridiculous."

The left is of course being doucheburritos about it.

So how did we get to this moment? Ron DeSantis has been following science and data about masks and their efficiency for most of the pandemic. Joe Biden has been following "the" science according to what the government guys tell him to think. Other Democrats started to follow the political science once they realized they'll be losing their jobs. The CDC (aka Joe Biden's government guys) did the same and said masks weren't needed.

On Monday, Joe Biden wore a mask in front of cameras while he was all alone on an empty field. On Tuesday, his maskless face was smooshed up against other maskless faces after his State of the Union. Ya dig?

That brings us to today's event at the University of South Florida. According to WFLA-TV, it was a speech about funding for cybersecurity education. The school had the students behind him masked up. I'm guessing the school still has an anti-science mask mandate. DeSantis took one look and said "Enough. No more masks."

He's being attacked by the media. Had he given the speech in front of masked students, he would have been...well, attacked by the media.

Ron DeSantis did what all adults need to be doing and telling kids enough is enough. If people still choose to wear a mask, that's fine. DeSantis says so himself. But he more importantly said it was theatre and it's time to take the masks off. Most people under the age of eighteen have heard nothing over the last two years that wearing a mask is virtuous, and that anyone who didn't wear one is anti-science and less than desirable.

Let Democrats be the party of maskless adults smiling in photos with masked-up children. Republicans can simply be the party of adults. What DeSantis did today wasn't politics. It's leadership.
