Woman Faked Her Own Kidnapping, Now Her Lawyers Are Trying To Keep Her Out Of Jail Because She's Really Sorry About It
Carlee Russell was found guilty on charges in regards to her fabricated claims that she was abducted in Alabama earlier this year.
Hoover Municipal Judge Brad Bishop found her guilty of falsely reporting to law enforcement authorities and falsely reporting an incident.

The state recommended one year in jail, nearly $18,000 in restitution, and two additional fines of over $800 each.
According to the reports, her attorney plans to appeal the case.
Russell admitted to law enforcement back in July that she fabricated her entire story.
How do you appeal a case after you have already admitted you are guilty?
She will get a lot more respect from the public if she owns up to all this and moves on. Although, she definitely deserves to do at least that and learn her lesson.
But it is quite obvious this girl needs help. There is no way a sane person would believe they would win this appeal. She is delusional.
“There was no kidnapping on Thursday, July 13,” her attorney, Emory Anthony, provided in a statement to law enforcement. “My client did not see a baby on the side of the road.”
He added, “My client apologizes for her actions to this community, the volunteers who were searching for her, to the Hoover Police Department and other agencies as well, as to her friends and family,” the statement continued. “We ask for your prayers for Carlee, as she addresses her issues and attempts to move forward, understanding that she made a mistake in this matter. Carlee again asks for your forgiveness and prayers.”
No, she did not make a mistake. Mistakes are made by accident. She purposely planned this out for media attention in some sick Jessie Smollett way.
Police previously said that Russell got toilet paper and a bathrobe from her employer and later picked up takeout. She was also seen later getting snacks at Target.
But unfortunately for her, she was not what you call an “evil mastermind.” She googled kidnapping movies the day before her kidnapping and stopped for snacks right before she was “kidnapped.”
I guess it was not clear to her that most people do not really know that they need to be prepared for a “kidnapping.”
But most people who fake their own crimes are generally not the brightest bulb in the box.
Just for one example, Smollett planned his entire fake hate crime on city surveillance cameras. She also did it in a very busy intersection.
These are places where it is very easy to prove they are lying.
Did she at least get a Subway sandwich when she got takeout?
During a press conference when charges were filed, officials said that they didn’t know Russell's whereabouts during the 49 hours she was missing.
“There are significant hours spent, resources expended, and not only that, but the many men and women civilians who wore those yellow vests on a hot afternoon and in the evening looking for someone they thought was abducted, trying to be of assistance,” the Alabama Attorney General’s office said.
The most ironic part about all of this is that her family tried to call the entire world racist for not doing enough to find her. Her entire family came out to defend her and her parents even gave a tearful interview.
They claim they had no clue that this entire thing was a hoax.
What a total clown show.
