WATCH: Sam Smith's Satanic Grammy Performance Was Sponsored By... Pfizer?
Last night was the Grammy awards. Full disclosure, I have no idea what happened or who won what, but I'm guessing Beyonce won something.
Sam Smith took to the stage for a totally-not-Satanic performance of his song, "Unholy." He had devil horns on and was dressed in all red surrounded by a harem of strippers. Oh, and it was immediately followed by a message saying The Grammy's were sponsored by Pfizer. Nothing to see here!

"Unholy" is about a man who's cheating on his wife and she doesn't know it yet: "Mummy don’t know daddy’s getting hot at the body shop/Doing something unholy."
Trans-identified pop star Kim Petras plays the part of the woman cheating with the husband, singing: "Mmm, daddy, daddy, if you want it, drop the addy/Give me love, give me Fendi, my Balenciaga daddy."
As you read these lyrics, remember, modern music is one of the highest forms of art. Right up there with phallic Martin Luther King Jr. statues.
Petras later announced they are the first transgender woman to win a Grammy: "Sam graciously wanted me to accept this award because I’m the first transgender woman to win this award. I just wan to thank all of the incredible transgender legends before me who kicked these doors open before me so I could be here tonight.” Thanks, transgender legends!
Petras also explained the performance was inspired by not feeling accepted by any religion: "I think a lot of people, honestly, have kind of labeled what I stand for and what Sam stands for as religiously not cool, and I personally grew up wondering about religion and wanting to be a part of it but slowly realizing it didn’t want me to be a part of it. So it’s a take on not being able to choose religion. And not being able to live the way that people might want you to live, because as a trans person I’m already not kind of wanted in religion. So we were doing a take on that and I was kind of hellkeeper Kim.”
This is incredibly sad, as Christianity is open to everyone. But I will point out, Satanism is quite literally the idea that you can do whatever you want regardless of God. Which is kiiiiind of what it sounds like Kim is saying here. Yikes.
