Democrat Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is following the political science and lifting mask mandates. Yes, science shows the mandates should have already been lifted as Republicans have been doing. As for "the science," that tends to be whatever unelected government bureaucrats tell Joe Biden it is. And the political science tells Democrats if they keep ignoring angry parents, they'll lose their jobs. Teachers' union-controlled school boards are the last holdouts. The unions are the ones who wrote the sciencey CDC guidelines, and they never cared about parents or students even before the pandemic. Exhibit Q of this is a school board member freaking out on a speaker for not wearing a mask.

The parent appeared to be wearing his medical exemption around his neck. And he was right when he mentioned President Biden speaking without a mask. The President has said that the CDC told him that the science says you need to wear a mask unless you are a) eating, or b) speaking into a microphone. This speaker is following the science according to the CDC. But the Illinois suburbs follow their own rules. Earlier this month, a father had an emotional breakdown describing how the school mask mandates have adversely affected his special needs daughter's development. The school board chairwoman's only response was "put a mask on."

They also lock middle school students in rooms for not wearing a mask. That school district has since said it was a mistake for that to happen.

We don't even know what the speaker wanted to say. He could have just wanted to acknowledge the Glenbrook Flying Squirrels winning the scholastic kickball championship. We'll never know because of a d*ckhead school board member. A guy who no doubt has an N95 mask under his cloth mask under his face visor. Ten bucks say he was overweight, too.
