Watch: Chuck Schumer Scolds Dangerous GOP "Dangerously" Trying To Connect Ukraine Aid To AMERICAN Border Policy
As Americans, we should be able to live without fear of crime or invasions across our borders. But our immigration laws are no longer being enforced because of racism, or whatever.
Ironically, it appears that some of the same lawmakers who believe no human is illegal, also believe that a sovereign nation should be able to independently govern free from the threat of external interference.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he plans to put Biden’s $105 billion supplemental funding request to a vote on the Senate floor next week. But Republicans have implied that they intend to block the spending package unless it includes increased security and asylum reforms at the border. However, Democrats have not surprisingly said they're not interested in changing the status quo.
“There are a number of things we have to do at once: deliver aid to Israel, aid to Ukraine, humanitarian assistance to help innocent victims in Gaza, and military capabilities in the Indo-Pacific,” Schumer said at a news conference, according to the Washington Examiner. “All these national security issues are related and should move together … America doesn't have the luxury to pick and choose national security threats that befall us. We must address all of them, all of them, because our adversaries, Russia, China, … Iran … are investing heavily in them too.”
The request includes $61.4 billion for Ukraine, $14.3 billion for Israel, and there's $9 billion earmarked for humanitarian aid in Ukraine, Israel, and Gaza.
The current request only proposes more money to speed up the processing of migrants.
According to Fox News, Schumer deflected blame and said "A handful of Republicans have dangerously tried to link Ukraine aid" to border security. “You can know one thing for sure: That it’s the Republicans holding this up by their insistence on an extraneous and partisan issue that there’s always difficulty in coming to an agreement on.”
Let me get this straight. We need to give Ukraine $61.4 billion so they can protect its border. But is it “dangerous” if we protect our border?
The double standards and lack of self-awareness are infuriating.
The situation at the border has gotten so bad that on Monday, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) suspended vehicle processing operations at Eagle Pass International Bridge 1 in Texas, and reduced vehicle processing in Lukeville, Arizona.
“The U.S. is continuing to see increased levels of migrant encounters at the Southwest Border,” a statement from CBP read. “In response to this influx in encounters, we will continue to surge all available resources to expeditiously and safely process migrants.”
Basically, legal border crossings were temporarily suspended in an effort to service illegals instead. This spending package fails nothing to secure the border and the alien invasion wreaks havoc on our nation’s communities. Before we start spending billions of dollars to secure other nation's borders, can we at the very least, enforce immigration laws first?
That might be too much to ask as we wouldn't want to do anything "dangerouse."
