Scottish Student Calls ISIS 'Barbarians.' Get's Slapped with a Hate Crime...
Welcome to Scotland. Home of haggis, the Bay City Rollers, and NXT Champion Drew McIntyre. Also, home to hate crime laws that are so jobby -
HOW JOBBY ARE THEY?
They are so jobby, it's a hate crime to insult ISIS.
No, seriously. The terrorist organization. Criticize it and you'll get bitch slapped with a hate crime.
A law student is under investigation by his university after being branded a 'blatant Islamophobe' for allegedly mocking ISIS on social media.Robbie Travers, 21, who is a regular commentator on Facebook and Twitter, has allegedly put 'minority students at risk and in a state of panic' at Edinburgh University for his comments which ridiculed the terror group.
Responding to the news the US Air Force bombed an ISIS stronghold in Afghanistan in April, Travers wrote: "I'm glad we could bring these barbarians a step closer to collecting their 72 virgins."
Here's but one entry from Traver's Facebook page. Spoiler alert: he's not a leftist.
Did you see the blatant hate of Muslims there? Because I might have missed it in all these animated gifs of animated films centering on Scotland. Describing terrorists as barbarians, then citing how they'd be accosted by their promised virgins in hell doesn't seem hateful to me.
Side note, I apologize for the excessive use of Pixar gifs. Blame the lack of available .gifs (pronounced with a hard "G") of Mike Myers in So I Married an Axe Murderer. Or of Braveheart slapping random Englishmen. Besides, Travers is Scottish and have fabulous hair.
Travers wrote on Facebook last night: "Afraid I've been a little more quiet as I have been accused of Islamophobia because I mocked ISIS, and I'm being investigated on such a ground by my University."Mocking ISIS allegedly made Islamic and minority students feel 'threatened' and 'unsafe,' so goes the complainant's ramblings.
So if mocking ISIS made other Islamic students feel "threatened" and "unsafe" what, pray tell, does that say about the allegiances of said Islamic students, eh? According to all leftists breathing in oxygen, Islam is the religion of peace, and ISIS are but outliers. So shouldn't other acolytes of Muhammad be denouncing ISIS along with our long-haired Scotsman? Mutton for thought.
In the grand scheme of hate crimes in the UK (see Authorities Investigating a “Bacon Hate Crime” Outside a Mosque. Yes, Really… and SEXISM: ‘Misogyny’ Now a Hate Crime in the UK. Man-Hating Perfectly Fine…), this has to top the list. Mocking ISIS made Islamic students unsafe?
It's one thing to not denounce ISIS. But to file a complaint against someone who does? Let's talk again about moderate Islam being the religion of love and peace and rainbows and cheese.
