There is going to be a day when Scott Jennings says something the slightest bit critical about Trump and everyone starts calling him a controlled opposition psyop because he used to work for Mitch McConnell. Until then, I'mma keep enjoying his CNN hits. He remains the sole voice of reason and handles the 4-on-1 team-ups better than most.

Because the talking points have gone out, now is not the time to blame anyone for the Los Angeles wildfires, though it's totally the fault of climate change and Donald Trump. Fire is bad. Orange Man is bad. Fire is orange. You have to think about it.

In light of LA Mayor Karen Bass creating the most embarrassing press conference of the year, Jennings believes that now is the perfect time to place blame. No, not climate change or Donald Trump.

Nobody seems to want to take responsibility for the local governance that has led to some of the failures and the devastation that we’re seeing. ... It’s not politicizing things to raise public policy questions when this devastation is occurring.

The other issue is that California cares more about woke DEI policies than it does about competence or effectively serving the public. Let me be clear about something, because the letters "DEI" have a habit of getting thrown around recklessly and distract from the serious issues with DEI policies. Represenation? Good. Diversity? Noble. Prioritizing those things over someone's ability to do a job when people's lives are on the line?

Therein lies the issue.

"The interest was whether there were too many white men who were firefighters. ... as a matter of public policy in California, the main interest in the fire department lately has been in DEI programming and budget cuts. And now we have this."

For example. The City of Los Angeles's fire chief's priorities? Not fighting fires.

This led to people who wanted to become firefighters being told no.

As a result, when there are fires that need to be fought, there is a SHORTAGES OF PEOPLE TO FIGHT THOSE FIRES.

Also, to be clear, California Governor Gavin Newsom is cisgender, white, and male, and he is THE most incompetent official in California. It doesn't have to do with identity. It has to do with ideology and policy. The same failed ideology and policies that California votes for over and over again.
