Scott Jennings has Trump rally crowd laughing, but what he says about Trump's "bad" polling will truly trigger CNN and Dems
If you hate Scott Jennings for being the lone voice of reason on CNN before, you're really gonna hate him after he shared the stage with Donald Trump at his Michigan rally. Yes, CNN, to their --- I guess "credit" -- sent the one person who doesn't hate Donald Trump to cover a Trump rally. And if that doesn't trigger the left and his CNN colleagues (but I repeat myself) enough, the ice bucket challenge he played dumping cold water on Trump's "bad" polling will.
To be clear, Jennings wasn't a scheduled guest at Trump's rally. He wasn't supposed to speak. But Trump is Trump, and he likes calling people on stage with him.
It hurts my heart to say this, but Whitmer is disqualifying herself at this point.

So he invited Jennings on stage to say hello to the Michigan audience.
🚨NEW: Trump brings CNN's Scott Jennings to the stage! @ScottJenningsKY
TRUMP: "We have a man here that I don't know but he's defending me all the time on CNN. He defends me really well but he cant go too far or he'll get fired. He takes it right to the edge, but he'd be off… pic.twitter.com/hJui5fVe0Y

Michigan, we were flying here today and there were so many farms. I said 'I need to get a farm, because when you own as many libs as I do you need a place to put them all!
Jennings had a job to do, though. It was to check in with Team Trump and supporters in the swing state of Michigan to gauge their sense of how things are going. Surely, they've seen the mainstream media polls that claim widespread voter remorse for voting Trump. Right?
I know my liberal friends have. It's the new headline they're chasing now that egg prices have dropped, though I doubt they'll care about the polls six months from now when they show people are happy with how things are going.
That was the point Jennings made to Jake Tapper. Yes, Team Trump has seen the numbers and realizes they have some work cut out for them. HOWEVER...
I mean, they're going to roll out some more announcements on trade deals. They've got more private investment announce — announcements, as I understand it. They think that will help.
But really, what I am picking up from these guys here is that over the next several weeks, the pressure on Congress to pass the reconciliation bill — the big, beautiful bill, as he's been talking about, that's where the real focus is, because they think if they can lay down a marker on taxes and energy and all the other changes they want to make, they're going to be able to paint their opponents, the Democrats, as obstructionists and people who want to raise your taxes and so on and so forth.
So, that's the battle to come and they think if they win that battle, they're going to see a boost out of it.
CNN’s @ScottJenningsKY, responding to @JakeTapper insisting polls showing most Americans are experiencing “discomfort” with the Trump presidency:
“Well, I think [the administration’s] watching them and paying attention to it, but they also know there's more work to do. I mean,… pic.twitter.com/kXFWRn9wWP

Here's the thing with poll numbers. All they are is a snapshot of that current moment in time. They also measure little more than how someone answered a very specific question, based on how it was very specifically worded. It doesn't measure knowledge of an issue, how much you have actually thought about it, or if you would have even thought about it at all had not a pollster asked you about it.
Polls have turned into glorified clickbait more than anything used to inform.
We elected the Trump Administration counting on them to do what they campaigned on, which will take some time, and not change course because a random set of numbers might say a majority of people might disagree that day, depending on how you word things.
We elected them to stay the course. They are staying the course. When Americans starts to feel the results, I doubt CNN will care what the polls are and will move on to something else.
