Defund the Police protesters marched to Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell's home on Sunday, after he announced an increase of $17 million for the police department.

According to Fox News, the protest was called "Justice for Jaahnavi," in regard to a college student who was fatally struck by a police car in January.

The funding increase, which is expected to total $391 million next year, is meant to target the increase in crime and response times being on the rise. The funds will go towards hiring bonuses in an attempt to up a depleted force.

Seatle Councilmember Andrew Lewis said last year that committing to defunding the police force by “50% was a mistake.”

Oh, so you mean defunding the police resulted in more crime? Wow, who woulda thunk it?

I guess we shouldn't be surprised when we have the lunatics running the asylum.

According to Fox News, protestors actually want the budget to be cut.

One protester in the crowd gathered outside the Mayor's $1.4 million apartment said that police were “not here to protect us” but rather posed a threat to the public.

“Police were formed from slave-catchers and union busters,” she said. “They are not here to protect us but to brutalize us.” She added, “Their purpose in a capitalist state is to protect the power and property of the wealthy.”

She really equated the Seattle police force to slave catchers. You cannot make that up.

It is just so dumb how these people equate one cop's actions as some sort of institutional issue. But I guess it is also dumb for us to think these people even have a brain to form basic thoughts.

Seattle has already surpassed last year's homicide count. Violent crime and car thefts also reached a 15-year high in 2022, according to police department data.

But of course, the liberal lunatics are not protesting the victims of murder. Pretty telling that their demands would only add to that if it was granted.

"With homicides up and when SPD is recovering more guns than any previous time in our history … we know we can't be complacent," Harrell said.

The proposed rise in funding comes after an even bigger increase of $19 million, which the Mayor instigated in 2022 - from $355 million that year to $374 million in 2023. Which were subsequently in response to previous cuts prompted by the Defund the Police movement.

Sunday's protest was organized by Seattle South Asians 4 Black Lives and South Asians Resisting Imperialism. Ironically, Harrell is Seattle's first Asian American mayor and the second Black mayor.

But the Mayor still tries to reason with the unreasonable degenerates.

"We cannot have safety without accountability and community trust," Harrell said. "Sadly, we have seen that trust fractured through recent events where officers have disrespected or dehumanized our neighbors. Those comments make me incredibly sad and incredibly disappointed."

What a clown. He goes and demonizes the police as he tries and play both sides. Man up and stop giving these freaks attention.

Dozens of people gathered in a park before marching to the mayor's home, shouting nonsense like "No justice, no peace" and "Say her name."

The whole “say her name” thing is super duper creepy as it comes off like they are doing some sort of seance.

Why do city officials even give these protestors the time of day? Several dozen people are obviously not representative of the entire city. Although, I am sure there is no shortage of weirdos in the Emerald City.

It is probably safe to assume that anyone who protests for fewer police, will benefit from fewer police. Meaning, that they will exploit the lack of response by committing crimes. But that is just a hunch.
