As usual, leftists are crashing and burning in their attempts to nix the Second Amendment. Well, "if at first you don't succeed" and whatnot. Now progressives are trying a new tactic, or at least new in this debate. The race card:

Gun violence is rooted in white supremacy.

Oh, this is going to be good!

Their “right to bear arms” was the right of white men to exercise authority over black men and women by violent means if necessary, and their right to a “well regulated Militia” was the right to do so in large groups.

Even after the Civil War, white men did their utmost to ensure that gun ownership remained their prerogative. The Ku Klux Klan was notorious for, among many other things, confiscating weapons owned by newly minted black U.S. citizens, and prohibiting black gun ownership became a pillar of Jim Crow legislation.

So, Democrats have an obsession with race and confiscating boomsticks. Consider my mind blown.

When white men feel disempowered, they are primed to resort to gun violence to reassert their sense of authority. It’s no coincidence that the rate of gun violence, and mass shootings in particular, has risen in tandem with the expansion of rights and representation for people of color and women in recent decades.

Putting all the leftist racial bullhickey aside, this writer just admitted the right to bear arms applies to individual citizens. Also, the militia is the people. Also, external mental factors cause mass shootings, not the gun itself. Way to punch your own narrative in the face.

If the Second Amendment is based solely on keeping the black man down, those powdered wig guys sure did a good job of covering it up. The last time I checked, the Amendment didn't read "The subjugation of the black man being necessary for the survival of the honky race, the right of Mr. Charlie to pack heat shall not be infringed."

This leftist also implies the NRA is only looking out for whitey, but I have yet to hear Wayne LaPierre say "We're all for gun ownership, except for the coloreds." In fact, one of the NRA's most prominent figures, Colion Noir, is about as white as a Hershey bar.

Also, the NRA was founded by Union veterans in 1871. As in The North. As in not the Confederate slaveholders of the south. As in "The side which won the civil war against the slave-holding south." So we're clear. The KKK was founded in 1865. I'm not saying there's a correlation, but the NRA being founded 6 years after the KKK might have some historical significance. Especially when one considers the KKK's love of gun control.

Adam Winkler spoke about his book Gun Fight saying:

“The KKK began as a gun-control organization. Before the Civil War, blacks were never allowed to own guns. During the Civil War, blacks kept guns for the first time — either they served in the Union army and they were allowed to keep their guns, or they buy guns on the open market where for the first time there’s hundreds of thousands of guns flooding the marketplace after the war ends. So they arm up because they know who they’re dealing with in the South. White racists do things like pass laws to disarm them, but that’s not really going to work. So they form these racist posses all over the South to go out at night in large groups to terrorize blacks and take those guns away. If blacks were disarmed, they couldn’t fight back.”

If there's a history of racism with guns, it's on the gun control side.

Another thing. The left seems to believe white police officers, or just white people in general, want to kill off "people of color." Seems to me if that's the left's belief, arming "people of color" so they can fight against this alleged racism purge makes sense. No? A gun isn't racist. It cares not the color of its trigger operator.

Sorry lefties, you're going to have to reach up your asses again and pull out a better one than that.
