The left is going absolutely insane. All they can do is look on in horror as the day Elon Musk takes control of Twitter grows nearer each day. I guess that’s not all they can do. They can stand up a federal Ministry of Truth to combat free speech. And they can drag Elon Musk into a Senate hearing.

They’ve already started assembling the team who will police speech at the Ministry, and now, Senate Commerce Chair Maria Cantwell says they’re “thinking about” having Musk come in to answer some questions, reports Bloomberg.

Senator Ed Markey, who sits on the Commerce Committee, is supportive of the idea, saying “It’s a technology which is central to democracy and our economy and it is important for the representatives of the American people to hear what the new owners intend on using that technology to accomplish. We have to understand the censorship or lack thereof, content moderation or not, that is going to be the policy for the new owner.”

Except Musk has been pretty clear about his intentions for the platform. He wants transparency and no censorship, which is exactly what the left doesn’t want. Markey and his friends in the Democratic Party would like nothing more than censorship and content moderation because it’s what they’ve come to expect and appreciate from Twitter.

If they end up calling for a hearing, Elon Musk should show up just to say, “Y’all can f*ck right off.” Then flip the table, toss a wad of hundreds out for the potential damages, and walk out like a boss. It’d make for some great memes.

We’ll just have to see where this goes. It’s clear the left is in a panic over what Musk is going to allow to be said on the platform. God forbid people can say such controversial things as “biological men shouldn’t compete in female sports,” or “children cannot consent to gender reassignment surgery.”
